The WESTPAC RTRC-MarBEST International Training Course 2020 on Mangrove Health Index will be conducted online on 16-21 November 2020. Thanks to our colleagues and friends in the host agency- Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI), this annual international training is made possible.

This training will be built on extensive experience of LIPI and other partner institutions in mangrove health index development, and aim to enhance capacity of our early career researchers for mangrove research and conservation. Attached please read the flyer for more information on the scope and invited lecturers for this event.

Due to the pandemic, this course will be conducted on line through LMS (Learning Management System). Selected trainees will learn independently through downloadable modul in the LMS. An online class will be set up to facilitate interactions between Instructors/Invited Speakers and participants. As an alternative arrangement to the hands-on exercise that we emphasized in the past trainings, this time we will use tutorial videos to guide trainees to acquire those on-site skills. Selected participants will be provided with an individual account to open the LMS. All modules, Video tutorials, assignments, daily schedules and other related information will be posted to the LMS.

The deadline for application is 15 October 2020! Should you have any suitable candidates in your country or network(s), particularly these early career researchers/professionals who are passionate about mangrove conservation and cooperation with others, please nominate and encourage them to fill in the attached form and send it back to Ms Sofie, Mr Yunus Zulkifli (LIPI), and Ms Nachapa (WESTPAC) in the copy.
